In an overwhelming number of cases in which a filing of divorce litigation is intended, Galveston County judges require mediation prior to the advancement of divorce trials & proceedings.
The Law Offices of Tad Nelson & Associates, headed by Galveston native Tad A. Nelson, encourages you to contact us for answers to any questions that you have regarding mediation for your case.
Mediation Explained
Mediation can be generally defined as the process by which a neutral party, the mediator, works as an intermediary between the two parties finalizing divorce proceedings. They operate in a capacity charged with helping to engineer a resolution that’s acceptable to both parties involved in the divorce.
Settlement Sessions
The “settlement session”, as mediation proceedings are commonly referred, is a way to resolve the case under the supervision of a mediator, outside of a courtroom trial.
When an agreement is reached during the mediation process it will be binding, serving to resolve the case absent of trial.
Our legal team has more experience crafting mediation strategies than the average Texas family lawyer. We’re available to assist you with all concerns and inquiries.
